TLC for your motor
What do you guys use to clean your motor? What kind of special cleaning solutions, or anything like that... Um right now im doing my swap and its sitting in my garage so its pretty dirty, i need some ideas to clean it... thanks in advance
some people use gasoline
I use mineral spirits or if I'm feeling particularly cheap, paint thinner (made from mineral spirits). a practical order of 'solventness' would be gasoline, varsol, mineral spirits, paint thinner - they're pretty-much the same except for the amount of refining. none of it is biodegradable, the bio stuff doesn't work. you can get it by the gallon from Home Depot.
good luck

it's just like using gasoline (it evaporates and leaves the same kind of residue) but not nearly as smelly or flamable. when you're through with it, use the dregs to rinse your oil-change pan, pour it back into the original can and take it to autozone for disposal.
