Default TIMING WITH MILLED HEAD YES OR NO???

just a quickie here
when you mill a head, depending on how much, do tyou HAVE to have cam gears to get the slack out of the belt for correct timing, or can you actually take away the slack and set timing with stock cam gears??

well like my situation is the head is milled 10 thousandths which i think is roughly about 2 degreees of cam timing, would i still be able to use stock cam gears or do i need adjustable to get the timing back??

if the engine is stock and this is the only time any material has been taken off the head then you will be fine. However if the head has been resurfaced before plus what your taking off this could start to be an issue. if you can afford cam gears id get them. This way you can get your timing perfect this is especially important if you are trying to get the most performance out of your engine.

it will retard the cam timing slightly...it shouldnt be an issue and will generally just move the power band up
