Timing Light, how does it work? (For a 92 RS Inegra)
I've seen it used on domestics on various Spike TV shows, but how on my integra?
I just bought a 92 integra and ordered a new distributor for it. I've read a few posts about marking the location and making sure that the new one goes on in the exact same way and that I should use a timing light to make sure.
Now, how does it work and how do I make the needed adjustments?
Thanks,
Steve

Timing - Warm up the car
Connect the + and - to the battery
put the pick-up on number one spark plug wire
jumper the timing connector
A non adjustable timing light will show you your advance marks, not TDC mark.
a adjustable timing light you can adjust to take out the advance and see the actual TDC mark.
to make adjustments of timing loosen the dizzy and turn until you have aligned the advance mark up with the pointer.
Tighten the dizzy and disconnect the timing jumper
