Default Timing Belt Noises

Ok, here's the problem...

'94 CX, 205k miles, I just got it, and it was well taken care of overall. I replaced the Alt and AC belts immediately, but there was an annoying squeak coming from the timing belt, so I took off the cover, started it up, and noticed that the belt was loose as hell, I think it would have skipped a tooth if I hadn't caught it. I went in, adjusted the tensioner, and checked eveything out and it looked good.

All was quiet and good...

Well, now it's about 100 miles later and the squeak is back... ACK! , it's making me crazy. Is it too tight now, is it just an old belt issue... I knew I'd have to replace the belt, H2O pump, tensioner, front main seal, etc, but I was hoping not yet. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks,
Andy.

I would say eventhough you don't want to replace it yet you need to. It would probably be your best bet not to break anything.

if it is making a squeel then it is a belt other than your timing belt. The squeeks come from the belt slipping and sliding. You would hear a flapping sound if it were the timing belt.

Well, it wasn't ay of the belts, my water pump sounds like a family of crickets are setting up shop in my motor. I can spray the pump with a little water, and the noise stops for a short time, but comes back when it dries out. I'm assuming it's on its last leg, so a new belt/pump/seals/pulley are in order... yippee.

Andy.
