Default timing belt

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the timing belt is supposed to have slack in it ,or is it supposed to be snug? Any help is appreciated!
The engine in ? is a d16a6 with a future mini me swap-like next weekend.

Tighter the better of course I guess to tight could be bad also but more than 1/4 inch either way when @ high rev = bent valves !

Tight, find the specs for how much slack it should have, it shouldn't be much.
