Default Throttle Position Sensor help needed!!

I have a "93" JDM B16A 2nd GEN in a "92" Civic HB,
I am having problems with the car bogging, and running rough at low RPM/take off
if I floor the throttle it tends to come around, and power up, but at less pedal it dies.

I talked to the guy I bought the car off of, and he led me to the TPS, since it is J-spec it is adjustable, it still has markings from when he adjusted it, ( I played with it for a little while, and the problem got better, but still not quite right,

SO... should I just buy a new TPS, if so will a USDM one work?? if not where can I get a J-Spec one??

OR... should I try taking the TB off and clean it out? (my POS Saturn TB got all loaded up with crap/cleaned it out and its like new)

everything else on the car seems good, compresion, A/F, coolant/fluids etc.

for the TPS, you can use USDM (it is rivted to the TB but no problem simply use something to make notches (dremel) and unscrew it.)

JDM TPS = USDM TPS

almost all TPS' from MPFI motors are the same so you can grab one off any 84-01 civic/integra/prelude/accord

cool... thanks for the info, I will just grab a new one from Honda, and notch it out, I might as well just pick up a new gasket while I am at it, and pull the whole TB off and clean it out.

Instead of using the shot-gun method to troubleshooting this, it would be much easier on your wallet if you could find a DMM, check the voltage at the ECU (.45V @ idle), and adjust if needed.

I agree with EE_Chris Take a strainght pin and push it through the wires center and green/white. Hook up a DVM and measure the voltage Honda says 0.5 VDC at idle (0.45 VDC works better). If it wrong then it will not respond well off idle. Don't waste your money on a part that may not need to be replaced. A second check is to slowly open the throttle watch the voltage to make sure it goes up evenly (no jumps in voltage). Usually if the TPS is truely bad it will throw a code. But its your money.

it does throw a code sometimes, but I don't have a way to scan for codes, I am going to grab the meter from work and check it out, thanks for the help guys!!
