for those with bored out blocks....
how much did labor and parts cost total? what else did you replace besides pistons, rods and sleeves? can you use a stock crank or better off using something else? what about which headgasket to use also?

what engine?
Use a stock head gasket thats been laser cut to the bore your going to... Golden Eagle does these. Retail is around $100 Copper gaskets tend to seep coolant on everyday drivers, so I don;t recommend them.
Pistons with rings are about $490-$500
Rods are about $325 for Eagles which will be good for at least 600hp as proven in GSREV's motor.
Golden Eagle sleeves are the best and will run you anywhere from $735 up to $900 now that they raised there prices... (I can do it for $735, used to be $635!)
Stock crank is just fine!!!
Use ACL bearings... they will run you about $90
Machine work can range from $60 to $125 most places, and GE has a shop that does it for them that uses a tq plate provided by them to do the bore and hone for $125.
As for labor to assemble it, that ranges from $250 to over $1k from shops that think their $h!T don't stink! I do it to cheap, but your in CA, so that would not do you any good, but I'm sure that someone on this board can point you in the right direction for your area.
