Default Re: blueprint and balance (ek_jeremy)

its a waste of money on a Honda!
besides balancing an inline 4 cyl. is useless since they balance themselves.
Let me explain... you always have 2 pistons up and 2 down, they are opposite of each other unlike a V motor. As long as all your components weigh the same amount as each other your rotating assembly will be balanced. Most companies match their rod weights to sets as well as most piston companies too.

I once had a rotating assembly balanced per customer request, which ended up proving to the customer that he did not need it as i had told him up front... the machine shop set everything up hit start, and said well there is nothing I can do for you, its already as good as it gets, now wheres my money?

I just smiled as the customer stood there in disbelief as he payed the guy anyway (for setup time)
