Default Thermoswitch

I replaced the thermoswitch in my wife's 94 civic about a year ago, it's gone bad again. I bought the replacement from Honda. WTF? Is this piece that prone to failure?

They go out all the time. If you don't want to replace it again, just cut the wires off of the connector and connect them together.
