Default thermal tape or thermal wrap? help please

my CAI is pretty close to my battery, it is starting to chip a bit where it is touching the battery. i think it might be scraping against it causing it to get scratched up and chipped. is there any kind of tape or wrap i can use on the cai in that area, just so it doesnt keep getting scratched? i am going to go assume that duct tape will only melt if i wrap that around the cai. thanks, i am still learning about cars and would appreciate the help.

Well it won't get hot, remember it's just sucking in cold air so basically you can wrap it in whatever you want. I put my battery in the back of the car and wrapped the pipe (where the hole is) with blue duct tape to match the blue scheme of my engine bay.

Your intake DOES get hot! It is hot b/c its attached to that thing that makes rapid fire explosions..ya know your motor. So OF COURSE its gonna get hot. In answer to the question I'd say that either thermal tape or wrap would work good..or you can opt to relocate battery like kamikaze said (Always more than 1 way to skin a cat)
