Default Testing Lost motion assembly

How would you test the lost motion assembly on a H22 Vtec, or should I say can you. Loud ticking from it, and just wondering if there was a way to test it.

Thanks

I think if you push it down and it stays down it is usually bad. At least that is what I heard.

My H22a is ticking like a bitch too, but I had the valves adjusted and stil there, I am starting to think maybe the LMA's as well, or a leak in the header. not too sure yet.
