Tein Installation ?
Need help with one thing. Everything is installed but the stock brake hose bracket from the factory shock needs to be removed and placed on the new Tein shock. I can't take it off. Here's a pic of the Honda factory shock with an arrow pointed to the peice I'm trying to remove:
Here's a pic of my Teins with where that brake hose bracket goes:
I would order a new one from honda but they don't sell it alone...or so I was told. Anyone run into this problem while installing their teins? Right now the hoses are zip tied to my shocks :/

I just did a similar install last week. The bracket will come off. Just hammer it off with a rubber mallet. Its just clipped over a ridge on the strut body.
Just curious... how long did it take you guys to install your Teins?
Mine just arrived yesterday and I'm wondering how long I should be expecting to spend installing these. It's a full Basic Damper Kit, BTW.

nice you got the upper pillar mounts also! Sweet, yeah the brake line holder thing is tough to get off just hit it with a rubber mallet for awhile it will come off...
As for how long the installation takes all depends on if you have power tools or not a lift or not. When I installed mine in my garage it took me about 2 hours and 45 minutes, but I left the brake line holder off, so the next day i went to my buddies shop to take the front ones off and install the brake line holder, well using one of his lifts, and a ratchet I was able to take them off put the brake line holder thing on and re-install them in under 30 minutes... It's a very easy job when you have the right tools

Yeah I've had the ss dampers for about 8 months now ,and i like em alot.....the install took me about 3 hours in my garage and it was my first time...... i'm curious though.........what setting are are you guys using for the front & back......I've got mine set like @ 8 so it not too hard or soft......
the bracket will come off with some hammering and maybe some PB Blaster, it's easier to get them off if you don't really care about the stock shocks....As for installation time..if you got the Teins with new upper mounts it's not bad..if you have to use your old upper mounts and you don't have spring compressors..BE CAREFUL! I cannot stress enough how dangerous that can be..I took a spring to the chest once, it did not feel that good, if that had been my face I would've been down for the count I'm sure.

Took me and another guy (Who did most of the work. He'd done it before.
) About 3 hours to do a full swap including swapping the rear lower control arms and installing a sway bar at the same time. But that was having taken the car to a shop and had all the major bolts broken free with an impact gun in advance. (Trust me, this will save you a LOT of time and foul language. Get the upper and lower fork arm bolts done and the lower mount of the rear strut)

Yeah it depends how many times you've taken apart suspension
It took about 20 min. for the fronts at most and around 40min or so for the rears since I swapped LCAs (JDM ones so I had to re-tap some holes) and did both sides by myself. After that I had to jack with the swaybar a little more to get it fit since the suspension was shorter and had much less movement.

Thanks for the input guys...I finally got it off. I had to take off a total of 4 actually. One for my set up and one for my buddies. My hommie used a hammer and it came off pretty easily. I guess I was too scared to bend it so I didn't pound hard enough.
As for installation...it took me about 30 mins for the rear and like an hour in a half for the fronts. I did the fronts at night and I had to figure out what to do with the brake line bracket. Otherwise it would have been quicker.
