Default TECH: My car died while driving!

Ok, I have a 1998 Integra LS with 105,000kms on it.

Here's what happened:
I was driving about 50km/hr then all of a sudden my car just dies. No power to the car and no power steering and NO I didn't stall!

So I pull over to the side then wait for a bit then try starting up the car again, then it starts up fine!

What gives? Some people say its the COILS I need to change. I'm kinda freaked out cause what if I was in heavy traffic or something.

HELP PLS!!!

New rotor, cap, plugs, plug wires couldn't hurt.

I've already changed my cap, rotor, plug wires and change my plugs every 25,000kms so that's not the problem.

well, after my car died i turned on the "flashers" and pulled over as fast as i could doing it safely. then i checked under the hood and everything seemed fine. timing belt, etc.....

i changed my cap, rotor, plug wires not too long ago. i was thinking its the battery but why did my car start up again afterwards????

i'm totally lost and confused about this.

so far people say it could be my alternator or the coils......

Dude, the same thing has been happening to my CRX. I swapped a new SOHC vtec head on it and it won't stay on. It will start just fine but it just loses power and dies. I'm going to check my ignitor and ignition coil, you should do the same.

Are your battery connections secure? Sometimes they get loose. I've had that happen to me before, and it was intermittent.

Same thing happened to me, only I was on a narrow road on a steep hill. So I had to roll back until I could turn around then coasted back down to my house. In my case it was a tank of bad gas. Gas treatment couldn't hurt if you have tried some other things.

most of the time its bad gas. Cleaning your fuel lines might be a good idea too. check your dizzy too.
