Default TB ground wire

I want to ground the throttle body, but in my Accord, the Battery is far away from the TB. Is it OK to run a 2.5 ft 4gauge ground wire? The HyperGround S-Type kit does come with a 35.4 inch long wire, so I was wondering why not? does the 18-inch rule only apply to audio componenets?

also, should I attach a ground wire to the alternator? Were would I run this cable? To the chassis, or the negative battery terminal?
