tach dosent work

i have a 93 dx hatch and i put in a ex gauge cluster to find out the tach dosent work. i have a h22 if it makes any difference. why dosent my tach work? any ideas? please help

the engine is a 95 jdm h22. it is really pissing me off. i tried my friends cluster and it diddnt work either. i appreicate any help
