Default tach calibration

i swapped out clusters in my ef today so i could have a tach, and noticed the tach read 250ish rpm, while the vafc read 750. i popped the needle off and stuck it where it should be. i noticed the higher up in the rpm's i get the more ahead the vafc the tach gets. at times it will be over 1k rpms higher, and i cant find any info if there is a proper way of doing a calibration on it. i just switched over from nissan, so all this is brand new to me. thanks
