Default syncro notched

well i was wondering if any one can tell me why this happens

its number 2 where the stopper block on the syncro is, you see 1 is normal 2 is notched

i can see how it happens but not why, this makes it very hard to get into 1st and 2nd.

was this a clearance problem? i see lots of s1/j1 and maby cable type trannys have this problem. ive changed the 1-2 syncro's on my tranny 3 times and the same thing always happens

thanks in advance

Um..it was designed that way on purpose. Why? More synchro tooth area, more teeth for greater durability, etc.

My $0.02.

When my Tilton went in to be rebuilt, they just told me my clutch was worn out.
