Default Switching from Regular to Synthetic

I have a 92 Prelude H23a with 56k miles on it. I just bought the car. I am considering switching the motor to synthetic oil. Would you recommend it? Will it harm the engine (i.e. seals!)? If it is a good idea, how do I switch over without harming the motor? If synthetic would be bad for my car, what oil would you use and what grade for summer and winter?

Thanks for the help.

I have a GSR, and switched over at about 85K and had no problems like leaks, etc. I stayed with synth for a while, then went to a semi-synth, because I didn't need to spend all that money. 5W30 for winter and 10W30 for summer.

Do you not have to mix the oil a little in the beggining and gradually switch over?

I didn't do it and had no problems. Try a search, I believe many people with Hondas have switched and had no problems. Try this website for more info:

There is never a problem with switching from regular to synthetic with a motor that is in good shape.
