Default Swapping trannies in an ACCORD

I found an ad for a Honda man. 5spd tranny with pedals and wiring. THAT'S ALL IT SAID. Now i'm just wondering how specific does the transmission have to be to fit in my 97' accord which is an auto.
Same year? or same gen.??
Or just same model?
does it depend on the engine?? h or f??
can different models of hondas exchange transmissions?? like accord and civic or . . . odyssey???

I really dont know how specific the tranny has to be to fit in my 97' accord, but that's why im subscribed to this forum.

Any info from someone who knows what they're talkin bout would be appreciated.

~Thx

Do a search, I came up with 977 results when I typed in "Auto to Manual" in the archives.... I know we aren't allowed to say "Do a search", but damn, when you get 977 results, sometimes you just have to say it.
