Default Swap? or not to Swap?

I was thinking of first doin a mini me conversion to my sohc dx, after doing my homework on this mod i thought why not just to the whole engine? so can anyone tell me the pros and cons and which engine to get? also how long does this usually take? and around how much?

i have run a mini me, a jdm sohc vtec and usdm sohc vtec, my advice to you...
save your change and go DOHC... seriously i was one of those people who were all about doing simple, inexpensive and efficient mods to make my single screamer fast but when it comes down it... having DOHC is sooooo nice and worth every penny!!... oh and dont even bother with a mini... if you want vtec that bad without the cost buy my jdm d15b off me for $250 with tranny. if your in cali i guess

dude props for stickin with the sohc. i am a true believer in single cams i am currently attempting yet another mini-me swap and i have to say i love them. many will tell you go dohc but if you really want to stay sohc. they can be built just as powerfull. not nearly as cheaply but just as fast. that sounds like a good deal for that d15b. you should get it. peace

so your sayin and ls-vtec and mini-me swap w/ the same mods would make the same power?

or are you saying that eventually, after a ton of work that they'll be as fast as a dohc motor with a couple mods? im confused.

the motor that i have is a d15b.
it is a jdm civic vti motor from 1991-1995
basically it is a civic vx bottom end with a d16z6 head.
the compression is a bit higher than our d16 which is nice for revving.
if you want the exact specs do a search on yahoo... you will get some links with good info that will support the building of the d15b over our usdm sohc vtec motor.
anyways... hit me back
