Swap axle length problem? EF B16A YS1-LSD
I used the hasport mount kit with a b16a, ys1-lsd tranny into my 90 ef.
I have a vibration coming from the driver side after slamming on the brakes just after the install. At the time it had an old pair of stock struts with springs from an 87 civic. I noticed a big drop in height after installing the b16 and I think something may have broken when I hit the brakes. Since then I have put back my stock Si springs, the vibration went away for the most part... then I cut two coils to see what would happen and the vibration started again but less. (This is all actually after I was sent an avid mount kit that had parts for an ef and eg combined and actually got it installed and running before I noticed and swapped them for correct ones!!!)
So I guess I am stumped as to whether or not the driver side axle may be too long?? How can I tell what mid-shaft I have?? I have read to use the 86-89 driver side axle with a y1 mid-shaft, but how to tell the difference between that and the other (S1, J1, A1, YS1)???? Something else I'm missing?? It has 90-93 teg axles on both sides right now that are equal length, but no problems on the pass side.
Please help, this is my daily driver and I don't have a garage to spend lots of time diagnosing!!

I've had it out twice switching the ride height. When I put my stock springs back in, the vibe went away. Then I dropped it 2 coils and the vibe came back less fierce. Now there is only a hint of it, mostly in 3rd/4th and when there is more load, like uphills not necessarily full throttle. When full throttle through the gears, there's not much sign... funny thing, my suspension is 200k stock and the front end comes up quite a bit when I'm on it.
Everything is in right... I'm just wondering if maybe I busted the inner cv? I've always busted the outers. There's no noises, just small vibes. I just know there's no play and the more it's lowered, the more drastic the vibration.

I have an 89 ef hatch with a gsr swap and I had that same vibration, really bad on hard acceleration. I was out yesterday and doing some pulls when I lost power. Normally I blow the diffs out of the trannies, but this time it was the inner CV joint. The three little arms that come out and ride in the bearings snapped and caused the car to jerk violently to the left every time they fetched up until I came to a stop. I'd recommend checking those inner CVs dog.
I got a DA w/ a b16a1 swap and y1 b16 trans, and everytime I turn the car makes a violent popping sound from the front end, everything is tightend down, and I used LS axles. Does anyone think that I need shorter axles or something?

R U using the right half shaft to run the LS axles...i was using the SIR half shaft on LS axles and my car would bind and vibrate over a bump and when turning.
