Default suspension upper pillow ball mount question.

We installed the Tein RS today and everything was OK for the first ride. Then when I drove home, the upper pillow mount on th eback was making alot of noise. I couldn't stop the car to find out what the heck that was until I got home. Then the locking nut on the top was loose, the mount was moving all over the place and I buess the strut was hitting on it quite hard, even I was driving vey slowly.
I retighten the bolt but find the same problem persists.
My question:
1. Can that be a defect?
2. By driving like that for 20 miles, even the smallest bumps make it sound so bad. How badly can the mount be damaged?
thanks guys.

hmmm.. i have a set of apex n1's with pillowball mounts in my del sol. i get a knocking noise from the right rear of the car over any bumps in the road. maybe it's just something that happens with pillowball mounts. it is annoying tho. good thing it's not my daily driver. anyone else experience this??

well.. here's some news. i was removing my rear trailing arms yesterday and i decided to see if i could find where the noise was coming from in my rear suspension. i removed the lower control arms and left the struts connected at the top. with even the slightest movement of the coilover assy, i would get a noise from the top (where the pillowball is) that sounds like it would go away if i greased it up. so.. i'm gonna remove the coilovers and grease up the pillowball mounts and see if that solves the problem. anyone else have input on this??
