Default Suspension Techniques SpeedTech Sway Bars - Quick Questions

Heya folks,

I've been somewhat forced into buying a replacement anti roll bar. Basically due to quite a servere accident I have had to replace the trailing arms on both sides, lower suspension arms, top suspension arms and have now found out the anti roll bar is bent and damaged.

My question regarding the Suspension Techniques kit is "What else do I need to fit the kit ?" I am talking about additional parts. Imagine that everything to do with the rear anti roll bar (Including all fixtures, bushings, links etc) is damaged. Coz it is I am going to have to physically cut the mounting bolts to remove the old anti roll bar as well as the links too. It's a hell of a mess.

Additionally, anyone have this kit fitted with any sort of Tein coilovers ? I don't want anything too aggressive (I don't really want the car lifting it's outside wheel if I go into corners too hard) and I don't really want the thing to rip the sub frame apart either.

I plan to get the cars suspension and chassis sorted before I really do any sort of engine mods, that way I can take it to track days and learn how to deal with the power I already have, before giving me enough to cause any damage.

Anything you guys have to offer about this kit would be appreciated. Like I say I've been sort of forced into it, and as a standard anti roll bar in the UK + all fittings from honda is like £200, I reckon the uprated aftermarket types are gonna come in a bit cheaper.

Cheers folks ...

P.S - The chassis isn't bent ... I just know someone will ask.
P.P.S - And it was oil that caused all my problems in the first place ... I thankyou ...

It's gonna be going on a Civic Si Coupe '99. I need something which is ideally a complete replacement kit. What do you recommend ?

mounts better lol

I've been using my ST sway bar front and rear kit for over 4 years now and I haven't had ANY problems(no cracks in the subframe or distrotion in the subframe). that's includes going to the mountains and canyons on a regular basis and hard driving in the shitty roads of southern califorina.

I've seen plenty of stories of how ST kits rip the rear subframe, but I've ALSO seen plenty of people I know who had ITR rear sways in their ride and still have their rear subframe cracked or ripped off the frame, that's even if the used the Beaks mount kits. so your belief is Bias and baseless.

BTW the hardware is VERY good and is made of quaility material.

my opinion and experience is what I went through. he asked a ? so he got a response. just like you have your experience and you have a response but you don't need to talk bad to people trying to give feedback to help others.

Sleeperciv : Cheers for the information, my main concerns were to do with ripped sub frames and quality of parts. I doubt our roads are as bad as what you describe but they do have their moments.

I dont suppose you have heard any stories about the comptech kits ? from what I've read they look pretty good, and have a reasonable amount of adjustability.

Cheers,

i live in Chicago and the roads here are absolute crap. I have the ST front and rear on my Sol and the difference was night and day after they were installed. Great quality product IMO.

Didn't seem like he was talking bad....think someone is just sensitive!

I'm looking into doing a ST rear sway and lower brace on my teg.

The only thing I didn't like with installing the front sway on my integra was the bolts for the bushings could have been longer, they were so short and I had a bitch of a time getting the bolts started, and had to throw out the lock washer to get it bolted up.

HMMM, that's strange I felt my bolts were longer then necessary. Either way I didn't have any issues getting the bolt started. I bought my set from Summit Racing BTW
