Super Noob Question
I tried searching this but couldn't find an answer. Seems like BE is too short of a word to search for. Anyway, my question is, can the BE Bore of a rod be bored to a slightly larger diameter?
Oh, thats lot of machining. I thought you were just needing another .001" or so...I dont think 3mm is going to affect the overall strength the rod THAT much, but youll probably have to get the bore re-tanged for the bearings. Id consult a good machine shop for your project.
What kinda project you working on if you care to share?
BTW, Id like a quarter pounder, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onion, mustard, ketch up,with extra yayo please

Awhile back there was a guy that successfully created a hybrid stroker kit for the S2000 using oem honda parts. I thought it was awesome, but, the only thing that bothered me was the bad rod/stroke ratio. He said he could overcome this by using something called a block guard, but it still didn't sit well with me.
So after some poking around I think I have something similar, but its all theoretical.
F20c or F22c block
F23a crank
F20b rods
H23 pistons
The only problem I ran into with this was the BE Bore of the f20b rods. They are 48mm compared to 51mm for the other engines (K/H/F).
I do realize that this would be a vary rare project since there aren't many F20B rods lying around (or engines for that matter) and the F23a crank would have to be modified to fit in the F20/22c engine, but its something that i'm still interested in.

Very interesting...Only thing though is a blockguard wont change the r/s ratio. Thats only affected by rod length and stroke, nothing else...
Let us know how it works out. Sounds like a very interesting project...MIght have better luck in the s2k forums....
