Default stutter/slipping

Every time I accelerate, the car seems to stutter or slip. It is a 93 civic ex-5 speed. My foot is on the gas only; in other words I am through shifting. I just replaced the cv axles and the tranny oil with synchro mesh. The car does have 225 thousand miles on it. My friend said it may be the clutch. Any ideas? The car is bone stock.

If it were the clutch slipping, you'd hear the engine rev up for a moment & the tach would jump. It would act as if you pressed the clutch pedal while you were accelerating.

If it doesn't act like that, I'd look for misfiring. How old are the spark plugs? Wires, cap & rotor? General tune-up stuff?
