stupid tire question?

I have some 96 gsr wheels with the crappy stock 195-55-15s would i be able to use a 205-50-15 on these wheels i know nothing about tires so im not trying to sound stupid thanks

I have 195/50/15 on my 95 gsr's right now..

you could probally go all the way upto a 225/50/15 for racing if you had some $$$ for race tires
