stupid question: what is this? [PIC]

Just trying to figure out if I need it with my new fuel system. I notice most drag cars don't use it, and most plumb an AN fitting straight into the end of the rail where that thing is..

It's main purpose is to reduce noise and vibration in the fuel lines.

Absorbs the shock created when the fuel injector closes. Makes the injectors last longer. That's my theory.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Wow, you really do learn something new every day... I thought it was just a big nut

ok, second question then... what size are the threads of that thing (I assume it isn't an AN fitting..), and/or what size is the banjo?

i think i know what it is. I seen someone have that on an integra to keep the fuel from back flowin out of the fuelrail. I think thats what it does beats me
Well, I heard it's a combination of those things... It acts as a secondary filter (sucks), dampener, and anti-drainback (maybe). Basically it's a POS, you don't need them. Honda scrapped the idea on D-series motors after OBD-0... It's too restrictive and the fuel system will last just as long without it.
