Default stupid car...

K so i was haveing ignition problems, cutting out, expecially hard on cold start up=wouldnt start. So i took it to the shop and they said it was the ignition coil. So the replaced it witha new one and yay, it work. So now its about 2-3 weeks since then and its doing the exact same thing. I went to start it and it started then died right away. I kept cranking it and once in a while it will fire a couple times(sputter) and die. It sounds as if its only running on 2 cylinders when it decides to run for half a second. the other time i revved it up a bit when it was runnning, it came back down to idle but the rpm's bounced from like 100 to 1500 for a bit before it settled at 1000. and yesterday after school i came out and it started and died. i cranked it more, it sputtered a bit then finally started. this is reallly pissing me off like you have no idea. this is my baby and it does this to me. what could it be!?!? when its in teh shop(heated) it starts no problem.
help please....
edit-i have cel codes 22(vtec malfunction), 45 i think(to lean or to rich) and 67(catylist system below threshhold or w/e)

Take care of the #45 code, have you thought about checking fuel pressure? Cars can't be stupid because they can't think.

Pull the distributor cap and remove the dust shield and inspect the pickup coil. They have been know to go electrically open intermittenly and cause symptoms similar to what you described. Whether they are open or not can also be affected by temperature. Sometimes they even grow fuzz for some reason I have never been able to figure out. Of course, it could have a bad ignitor also, that wouldn't surprise me. Inspect the cap and rotor and if it has been a while since you replaced it, go ahead and do it just to get the basics out of the way.

i just tested the resistance with the primary and secondarys on the ignition coil and they were the same? weird... and i took it for a drive since it was in the heated shop so it ran, and it was acting weird. it had good power but i revved it and let it idle it would sometimes al most stall, the needle was resting on 0rpm and the just bounce back and forth between 1000 and 0 rpm but whenever i hit the gas it never hesitated. this sucks... what are the symptoms of a bad ignitor? its getting gas b/c its always flodding after a bit when i try to start it.
