Default stumbling @ low rpm and 5800-6500k

My engine stumbles at low rpms and high rpms at the intervals above when under full throttle. Like when i downshift to 4th and mash the throttle, at around 5800 the car will buck and feel like a misfire. Any ideas guys? I have a 96 gsr with bolt ons. I'm thinking i accidently went too far on my ignition timing at 19 degrees. Also i have an aftermarket ignition. Crane ignitions but everything is hooked up right.

Where do you have the ignition box? If it is getting too hot it could cause that type of misfire. Also, I'm assuming you've changed plugs?

Yeah i've changed plugs with no results. the box is located in the engine bay above where the battery used to be located.

The ignition box could be your problem. I would try running without it, see if that fixes it.

What about relocating it into the passenger department, or glovebox?

I was thinking about that. I redid my timing to 16 degrees. Same problem. I will try and relocate it.

try replacing the fuel filter. its about $15 from the dealer. other possibilties can also include, changing distributor cap and rotor and maybe even the spark plug wires.
