Default stuck axle

I am removing the knuckle from my 6th gen accord, but the axle seems to be stuck. I did like my helms manual said and used a plastic hammer to tap out the axle. Well it isn;t working very well. Is there anohter way to get the axle out of the hub?

Last resort is to disconnect the upper ball joint, then your lower ball joint, then the steering tie rod, and remove your lower strut fork. Remove the axle and hub assembly from the vehicle, then take it off the hub on a workbench.
