stripped oil pan bolt help!!!

Default stripped oil pan bolt help!!!

ok my friend was trying to change the oil on his car and instead of losing the bolt he was tightening instead so the bolt strip and now it won come out , is there any way to get it out please help

Did he strip it or just shear the head off?

If he sheared the head off you can probably go down to you local autoparts place or hardware store and get a bolt extracter, there are various kinds. It should work cause the bolt is not ceased in there. Also the threads should be still intact.

If the stripped it and it is spinning freely, well..hmmmm. Probably have to just pull it out, either re-tap the hole to somethign bigger or insert a helicoil. Also get a new train bolt. That's all I can think of. Might want to think about an engine flush because there will be some debris in there. Or drop the pan.
