Strength of LS rod bolts??
K, what's the deal with the LS rod bolts??? I hear that 8400rpm is nothing for them, then I hear 7500 is bad... Does someone actually know the srength of an LS rod bolt instead of just heresay?
There's no real "If u hit X amount of rpms the rod bolt will break" But I'll put it to ya this way, the redline isn't there because of Air Conditioning issues.
;-)
I have a DA too... 2 of dem. See my pic? ;-) A white one in front and one that used to be orange... it's almost blue now. lol ;-)
if nothing else, use ARP bolts and a girdle... Otherwise, for a good buildup find some forged internals ;-)
Harry
P.S. 8400 rpms on stock LS rods and rod bolts? riiight. maybe for 3 runs down the track.
If the rod bolts held up, it's only because the rod broke. hahaha.
