The car is an 85 CRX Si, with an 87 CRX HF gauge cluster, and a B16A1. The tach reads up to 8. Recently I've noticed that when I get up around 7500 rpm, the tach will just peg out past 8, but my VAFC only reads a little past 7500 when I shift. I've never noticed this happening before. The only thing I can think of is the tach signal is messed up, or (more likely) the 5500 redline tach is tired of seeing 8K shifts. Anyone ever had a wore out tach? Thanks.

 

Fixed it, tightened up the wires on the igniter.
