Default STRANGE NOISE!!!!

I HAVE A 1990 HONDA ACCORD DX AUTOMATIC TRANS. THERE IS A SOME WIERD NOISE COMING FROM MY MUFFLER. I HAVE ABOUT 94K ON MY CAR. THE NOISE IS LIGHT AND IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS RATTLING AROUND IN THERE. ITS NOT A HARD THUMP BUT INSTEAD ITS SORT OF LIGHT... I'VE NOTICED THAT MY CAR IS POOR ON GAS MILEAGE TOO.... ANY IDEAS GUYS?

as far as the noise, it's hard to tell from not hearing it myself. if you think it is something in the exhuast, you can pull it off and check it out. and you can do a light tune up to acheive some better gas mileage. spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, better gas, etc.

it could be your pistion slapping around in the cylinder. but im not sure if it would happen with 94k on it? can you hear tapping under the hood also? because if you are getting bad feul milage you could be losing power becuase it isnt comprising the feul as much?
again only 16 so im not sure but if you hear it under the hood that is most likely it. but im by no means a mechanic

a lot of times those slight exhaust rattling noises are heat shields vibrating.
any loss of power?

rattling muffler means to get a new one, or live with the noise....

poor gas mileage could mean you're due for a tune-up:

plugs, cap, rotor, wires, gas filter, air filter, pcv, and O2 sensor, and maybe a throttle body clean if you want, honda TBs get pretty dirty...all could be done in your own garage
