Default Strange Electical Problem

Ok, I was out driving around no problems at all for about an hour. I pull into my driveway and turn the car off. As I'm getting out I realize my dome light isn't on, I figure no big deal, just a dead bulb.

I close my door and attempt to arm my alarm... except nothing happens.(the LED isn't even blinking) WTF? So I get in and try to start the car, just dead.. no clicks, nothing.

It's the middle of the night here so I can't really check anything until morning. I'm just hopeing someone will have some insight into this by the time I wake up.

Oh, and it is a brand new battery as of about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:

So at around 8:30 this morning I'm still sleeping, when all of a sudden I start hearing chirping, for about 2 minutes.(Then I realized it was my alarm cutting in intermittantly) Suddenly it goes off completely. I grab my remote and disable it.

The thing is, if you cut the power to the car and then plug it back in the alarm will go off by default. I haven't gone out there yet, but what the hell could have caused this temporary electrical shutdown?
