Default strait pipe with obd2 HELP plz!

my buddy is willing to sell me his apexi N1 for 150.
heres the problem/blessing; its for an HX so it is longer than the one that is made for an EX because the hx/dx/lx cat is found up top.
now my figuring is, i can just take my cat off completely and run strait n1.
in my head/ theory that sounds right... doesn't it?
if i remove my cat, the HX exhasut should bolt right up prefectly. or at least thats what i think.

now, for the second most important part. i have obd2 which means i have to have a sensor somewhere down by where the cat USED to be. i assume my car will throw codes because its freaking out thinking its running to cold/ clean whatever. has anyone used a strait pipe on an obd2 and left the sensor hanging or tuct it away???? any experience would help greatly. thnx.
how do i trick the car without switching OBD's?

you can get a simulator: to fool it or:

order a testpipe with o2 bungs for your sensors: 60-80 bucks shipped:

but wouldn't that just have the o2 bung plugged in and realizing that the catalytic converter is failing and throwing you and a check engine light? And where would you get this simulator?

i just researched the simulators, you can make them yourslef but seem sketchy, not reliable.

my original plan is to weld a bung on anyway.

i just wanted to know if anyone is running a strait pipe on obd2 without throwing codes and how they do it.

i have also just heard on another board, that the secondary 02 sensor's soul purpose is to make sure the exhaust is still flowing. so running rich/lean/stoich doesnt even affect it. this is just what i have HEARD.

If that exhaust theory does work have a o2 bung made into the pipe. Then get a o2 sim. Yes you can make you own. Yes they work if you know how to make it. I did my own. No problems since day one.

Don't know about other people's experience but I made 2 bungs in my straight pipe and stuck both O2's in. No check light. This was on a 97 GS-R. I don't know if year model makes a difference or not on this matter. I tried leaving one in and one out but that resulted in a check light after I drove for a few minutes. Good luck.
