Default Steering Wheel shaking

Hi, I have a civic 2000 hatchback, with a b18b1 swap. My steering wheel shakes/vibrate viciously when at idle and any gear it gets really annoying. I even tried taking it out and righting the bolts. I have stock mounts from my d16 on my b18b1 would that be the problem? The whole car is vibrating but it's not as much as the steering wheel. What should I do

Check all your tires. My wife's KIA did the same thing. I didn't know what it was until the tire blew out on us while driving down the highway. Turns out there was a huge bulge in the front passenger side tire.

If that isn't the problem you may need to get your wheels balanced and aligned.

What is your idle speed? Low idle will cause uncorrectable shaking without making the mounts soft as hell.

Mounts that are too stiff or do not transmit vibration into the chassis evenly can result in engine shake. Are you using 5 mounts or 3?

Exhaust?, any leaks under the car?

Make sure to torque your mounts in sequence. You can find the correct sequence in the fsm.

Not saying don't take advice from people here but careful when you ask a question like this or you could end up with a mile long list of things you need to check to find out what's wrong when its something simple like the tires. I'm not saying don't check the mounts or anything, but check the easy stuff first. (Of course you probably already know this so my response is likely redundant)

OP said it shakes at idle, so how can it only be the tires?

And I didn't say it was ONLY the tires. Just saying check the easy stuff first is all.

Agreed.

Reason why I said check the mounts is because it happened to me.

Wait, you said you have your d16 mounts with the b18? So the swap is sitting crooked and thats why it vibrates

Correcting the tires is secondary, correct the idle vibration first, and then proceed to diagnose a rolling vibration. Tires/balance/rim size will have a profound effect on vibration. You will need to inspect your car to determine what is physically wrong, and then diagnose the cause.
