Startup smoking
My new build has 100 miles on it but it still smokes every time I start it cold. It only smokes for about 4 seconds, and then the exhaust goes clean. What is causing this condition?

Top end was rebuilt as well. I had a 3 angle done and the seals were replaced. My machinist said the valve guides were in good condition as well. Now I am starting to worry that maybe my ring/hone job wasn't good enough... I gapped the rings myself (first time doing it) and I had to use a ball hone over my machine shop's hone because the cylinders started getting minor spot rust before I put the pistons in. It still looked good when everything went together.
I am also hearing knock (I think) when I go into vtec on my stock obd-1 ecu, even though I have gone DOWN in compression (no FI yet). I have also gone up by 130 cc in displacement. This perplexes me.

I am so fed up with cars right now. My newly rebuilt engine smokes like a chimney when you start it, it pings in vtec despite being 8.8:1 compression without forced induction, and it leaks oil like a sieve. I can't tell where the oil is coming from. I still have to put the lower timing belt cover on, but I am worried it will fill up with oil if I do so. I have to find a way to put the PCV breather hose on. The motor makes a loud clunk when I accelerate in reverse too hard, despite having a new front tranny mount.
My brakes were fine when I parked the car, but now the front rotors shake all over the place, and the rear pads are worn thin. The sunroof has rust spots all around it. My tent fell over and put scratches on the passenger door. I have no money left.
