Icon2 stanced craze?

okay i dont know about you guys but this stance craze is kind of pointless and ridiculous?I thought i would give it a try and its not worth the trouble of destroying your fenders and going through tires to me.why would you not want function over form?i dont want to here stanced car = panty dropper because thats b.s....if anything a car that can hang a curve at high speeds or a car that can run 11 seconds in 1/4 mile is a panty dropper...which i dont really need my car to make pantys drop....all im saying is you can make your car look just as good (if not better) when its functional!now i dont see a problem with someone slamming there car as long as the wheels fit without modification or running ridiculous camber!thats fine because its still functional (in most cases)!thats all!

let me know what you guys think

It's called "It's my car and I can do whatever I freaking want to it". You may not like it, but who cares?

I quit going to these meets with these type of cars. The cars are bone stock with oversized wheels and undersized tires. If you look inside or under the hood, theyre all stock. So really, theres nothing to look at. Ask the owner about anything tech related and they have no clue.
simply fail

I stopped going to meets for the same reason.
Hellaflush is helladumb, and stupid.
But grumpy does have a point. People are going to do what they want to their car. It's just some of us don't care for that type of scene, as others live it make their cars almost to the point where they can't even drive it.

It's just a fad, and it's going to die just like every other "scene" that has emerged.

and hasn't this been discussed like 60,000 times over?

a good looking car to one, isn't always a good looking car to someone else.
if it's just a DD, why would someone waste money on a turbo, etc. if they sit in rush hour for hours and just drive to the mini-mart for some Pepsi and Slim Jims?

Marc is spot on (as usual) their car, their build. if you don't like it, ignore it and kick rocks.

Cuz japanese people are doing it...
Everyone wan to be jdm even european herrafrushers.
I personally think its not a good thing when you are destroying a perfectly functional car to get some attention.
Some people build cars for their own taste. Others, aka toolbags go on the forums to scope out all the popular parts and throw them on thw car then go to a show and try to get attention and/or start some unnecessary drama cuz of their big ego.

Low and slow is the new fad apparently. I like low.. well mild low. I guess im old school. I want good handling, a smooth ride and a little horsepower to go with it. But who wants to spend 3k100 on a turbo kit and race when they can spend 1500 o n crappy knock off wheels and. Some ebay coilovers? Hopefully it will fade out like bodykits did. But euros have been doin it for a while and its still popular. But marc is right to each his own. Im not in it so what do i care

yeah i know....im just saying from experience the hassle of doing it isnt worth it.im not gonna tell anyone what to do with there car but if they want to do it then i support there decision....as long as there in the car scene and enjoying it....i would just rather have a functional car rather then dropping loads of cash on ccw's and all the tools to make my car stanced!

So what was the point in the question at all? To each their own. I don't see why you felt the need to try and denigrate a group of people for what they choose to do with their money, time and property.

Threads bitching about stupid trends are just about as stupid as the trends themselves.

Then take it to GDD where this has been bitched about to death. This is a tech forum. I come here to read up on tech issues so I know how to fix my cars when something happens. Not bitch about someone elses. Sounds like bitching to me. Kinda like me bitching right now.

The "scene". Meh.

And again, who started that thread? Not i sir. I didn't start a thread bitching at you about buying into a stupid trend did I? You posted up in a public forum and made yourself a target for demonstrating interest in stupid fad and now you're back here affirming that it was stupid. I can offer up an opinion in that case. So you kind of proved my point for me. Funny how you didn't update THAT thread to tell everybody that they were right.

You wanted an opinion? Here it goes.
All you stupid kids that don't listen to people that have been there, done that, and think you're blazing trails and plating flags are all idiots. You can't come in and say "Imma do sumpin' stoopid", ignore all of us when we tell you it's stupid, find out we were right all along, and then turn around and bitch about the other stupid people (of which you were formally one!!!) and then call them stupid as if you were now better than them.

Why? Because it makes you TWICE as stupid.

well technically im not a kid im legally an adult.maybe this should have been a warning thread.....letting people know the hassle of it and how pointless it is....im not trying to act like im all high and mighty and hate on the other people thats doing it...so are you telling me you have been there and done that? "All you stupid kids that don't listen to people that have been there, done that" so that would make you look twice as stupid to because you just pretty much said you have been through this trend too?yet your gonna bitch at me for doing it and then making a thread about how now i agree that its better to have a car thats functional?your kind of being hypocritical now.

Does reading comprehension not run in the family? It's just a saying. "Been there and done that" as in have done stupid **** and can now recognize stupid **** and know to stay away and warn everyone else to stay away. It's called experience, of which you seem to have very little of. I don't have to have the EXACT experiences as you to be able to recognize a pattern of stupidity when I see it.

Your argument sounds just as feeble as my junior high school students when they try to defend their "logic".

i am a little new to all this and i experimented and learned the hard way.now im gonna keep a more open mind and listen to people thats been doing it for way longer than i have.....ive only been doing this for like 3 years so just bear with me man......i kind of am warning people because i dont want them to throw there money down the drain and then a couple months later realize that it was one of the stupidest decision they have ever made.....so yes i do have little experience but im learning step by step....
