Default stalling.....

well im ordering a new headgasket since mine is blown. but i was wondering is taht the cause of my car idleling like crazy and stalling when i come to red lights??? i did a compression check and got 175-180-180-180. i have 9:1 compression pistons and also what size headgasket can i get to lower the compression even more??

Engine block - bottom end - I guess that's what he is reffering to.

A blown head gasket will cause a spartic idle, and can cause the syptoms you descried. Mugen makes a really nice well-built high compression head gasket. Pretty costly, but worth it. It will raise compression as much as .4 - Theoriticly you'll be at 9.4:1.

yeah the engine block, between the engine block and head. its leaking clean oil. but im going turbo and i dont want to raise the compression. i just lowered it. i want another gasket to lower it some more. which do you guys prefer.
