stage 3 clutch EG
Hey, I recently bought an EG with an SIR2 motor in it...i love it to death, but here are two things i really dislike about it:
1.The shifter. It has a short throw shifter, but I have to reach to shift and the gears are hard to find. Also, the shifter is very loose in 1st and second, so loose that I've confused it with neutral and let off the clutch only to have it jump or kick and make me look stupid
Anyway, is it just the shifter, should i get a new one or are all short throws like that?
2. The clutch...According to the dyno papers, it has 185 horses. I bought it with a stage 3 already in it, but it is hell to drive in traffic and especially at red lights...plus, i personally don't think that it has enough power to need a stage 3. I don't want to constantly be replacing worn-out clutches, or paying repair bills...what is a good clutch for daily driving? maybe a stage 1? or is stage 2 too much?
I appreciate it, plus this is my first post, so it's nice to have helpful advice!!!

1.) You're short throw should be very solid feeling, and you should never miss a shift. I love short throw's and hate driving anything without them. Check to make sure the linkage is not bent or loose at any spot. Also make sure all bolts are tight on the assembly that holds the shifter in place.
2.) If you are at 185 whp with your b16, then I would go with a stage 1 or even OEM if its just a daily driver. There is no need for a stage 3 clutch.

cool...i'll make sure everything is tight and connected...as for the clutch, how much would a stage 1 hold horsepower-wise? when i say stage one, i mean the Competition clutch kit? I'm satisfied with the engine output now, but i want to eventually get a 3-angle valve job and do some more headwork...put in some valves and springs and new gasket...
The first time i drove it, i had to fish for gears and it was kinda scary...
