squeak from new Konis... damnit.
Me and some friends just installed some Koni yellows on my car, and theres a freakin squeak coming from the rear driver side strut when I hit small bumps and grooves in the road. I can't tell if its actually the strut thats damaged or if its just some metal to rubber contact etc. The car feels great but this squeak is just aggrevating, any suggestions? Anyone else with Koni yellows have noises like this?
Just some info: The Konis are sp3 series set on mid perch and on full softness with eibach sportlines, The bumpstops were not cut, it said nothing about cutting them in the instructions. All the other struts seem fine, there is occasional noise from the passenger rear strut too, but very rarely. Everything was torqued to spec from Helms.

Is there any play at the upper mounting point, and do they just squeek or occasionally knock (make a thud)?
How much did you get your knois for? I'm looking into getting either Koni red's or tokico blues. Can't decide between the two, any major differences?? Which one is better for all around driveability?

The only noise that sometimes occurs with the shocks is that the upper seal that
the rod comes out of can get a little dry. This is more of a high pitched
squeak though and doesn't sound like what you're having problems with. As a
check, try spraying a little lubricant (WD-40 or something) on the rod and drive
it a bit. That will get the seal lubricated and, if that is the problem, make
the noise go away. Otherwise, it may be a bushing that the shock is attached
to.
The shocks will be affected by the cold for the first mile or so as the oil
warms up but no noise will come from them otherwise. If you have any questions,
please write back and let me know. Thanks.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think you should cut the bumpstops approximately 25mm (about an inch).
Could it be that the spring is not set correctly on the perch?

Let me take a stab at this......its only over very small bumps or "sways" like a parking lot.
Try adjusting the metal dust boot. Mine rubs the spring and squeeks in parking lots. I am going to try and switch to rubber dust boots so I don't have this problem.
