lets see.....now when i come out of first, into second and into third. my car is sputtering, but when i hit fourth and fifth it doesnt do it. i dont know why. did a compression check and i think it was good. i was leaking motor oil but it stopped. and i have the right amount of oil in the engine. but now its just sputtering. can anyone help me??

by the way..my compression, i got

170-180-180-180

on a b18c1 with 9:1 compression....the compression check numbers are good right??

 

This is not going to be of any help, but the engine doesn't care what gear it's in. Maybe you just feel the sputter more because of the lower gears.

More information or a better description of your symptoms would be a help.
