Default NO vtec....

i have a fields vtec controller and crossover is at 5500rpms. when i hit it i can hear the change in the sound from the exhaust and the controller switches to high cam but i cant feel anything..is it working or is it just me....

did you mess with the settings (those tiny switches on the back of the unit)?

if you can hear it, then it is engaging....its not really that much of a HP gain...so u probably won't feel much

There's many variables as to the "feel" of vtec. one of the main variables are the camshafts. Did your B-series engine orginally come with an AUTO transmission? if so, then you definitely need to upgrade the camshafts. Auto b-series vtec cams are sick joke.

You need to be more specific as to why your car doesn't 'feel' faster once vtec kicks on. What motor do you have? is it a JDM or US model engine? etc...

i have usdm gsr engine. brand new gsr cams. i mean it just doesnt feel faster. well maybe its just me..thanks anyway guys.

theres no jump or serious pickup once vtec engages at 4400rpms, that happens when the 2ndarys close up at 6k

the only thing you should be feeling/hearing is the vtec crossover a slight poping noise......
