Default springs and shocks

need some help here...dudes.
is it better to have low spring rate(soft) with hard shocks or is it better to have a high spring rate with soft shocks???

It all depends on where your gonna be driving the car. I'm no expert on this, but i know higher spring rates with softer shocks will make your car a hell of a lot bouncier.

Your shocks always have to be stiff enough to 'dampen' the springs. So it's never better to have stiffer springs than shocks. Like RioNinja said, if the springs are stiffer than the shocks, then you are riding on bouncing springs. The shocks don't have to be all that stiff, depends on your application; and there are adjustables so you can change the set up.
