Default Sport light flashing when pulling engine codes? I really need help!

Background: 1990 Accord EX w/ h22a automagic

Anyways, When I pull the engine codes I've counted the blinks and know what problems I'm having there... BUT... my sport light is blinking. Honda says thats not a good thing but they want me to bring it in to them. I don't trust them b/c I've had problems before. Does anyone know why the sport light would be blinking.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

At least for later years, the tranny controller used the D4 lamp to flash error codes, just like the engine controller uses the check-engine light. Maybe something like that? But check to make sure this makes any sense for '90. I think you jumper the same plug, just like reading CEL codes. If the tranny controller has any fault codes, it'll blink D4 while the ECM blinks the CEL.
