befor you buy spoon cams make sure you compare them to other cams. pay for what works, not for the name. i have seen some pretty bad dynos with spoon set up motors. 2000 type-R motor with Spoon cams, spoon pistons. spoon cam gears, spoon head gasket, spoon valve train, spoon header. only made 176whp and 125tq. just becuase it has a JDM name doesnt mean its good.
thats the problem i really dont know wat specs these spoon cams are.. i want to know if the specs of these cams are vlose to like toda a or b.. pls anybody?!
Toda Spec A 11.6 mm, duration - 250 @ 1mm 11.2mm, duration - 240 @ 1mm
Toda Spec B 12 mm,duration - 255 @ 1mm 12 mm, duration - 245 @ 1mm
Toda Spec C 12.5 mm,duration - 255 @ 1mm 12.5 mm, duration - 255 @ 1mm
Spoon Sports 11.53 mm, duration - 256 @ 1mm 11.13 mm, duration - 245 @ 1mm

so... hmmm spoon has a slight longr duration than the toda b cam.. but lackin the lift of the b.. umm wat u guys think? should i go with the toda b or the spoon cam?
im running a b16a with ctr pistons milled head (1mm) spoon retainers and valve spring. itr intake manifold and jdm 4-1 spoon ecu . all i want to know is that which is better the spoon hi cam or the toda b? cause im a little confuse here the spoon is more expensve.. come decide for me will ya? heheh
i would say toda spec B's would be better. that my opinion. go to yahoo and do a search on both of the cams. youll find a lot of stuff. dyno charts. etc far as i know the toda b will make more power.
I think there is some confusion here. Spoon only offers a complete engine with stock ITR internals. The thing Spoon did was balance and blueprint.
A dynoplot for a Spoon B18C (stock) engine for making 176whp and 125 tq is actually quite impressive. I have Spoon cams ,valvetrain and I made it up to 208whp with other combination of pistons.

helo! hey aj can u tell me more about the spoon cam? umm the part number for the cam is 14111-16b-goo for the intake and14121-16b-goo for the exhaust pls elaborate more how many spoon cams are there available?! like i saw a spoon cams with engrave ctr like rings and the cam im about to buy are without those rings how come !?!?! are the cams im about to get are street cams or race cams?!?! im freakin confused pls help!
Spoon only release 1 type of cams to the public. The part no. that you have stated is the ones that Spoon sells. Spoon uses Honda's cam core to cut these cams so they have more duration and more lift over CTR cams. The cams looks exactly like other OEM camshafts but they have different marks on the cam compare to ITR and CTR.
are these spoon cams im about to puchase are street cams or race cams?! theres no engraved rings on the sides like the ones on the ctr and itr dude.. wondering why..and i saw a spoon cam lke a year ago and it has those engraved rings like the ones on ctr man...
heres a little advice maybe can use it...thse cams you are getting aer really nice cams those toda spec b's or the spoons would be a good choice....you should try and look into the skunk 2 cams ive heard really good things about those...also ....depending on what you want top end or all around.....those high performance spoon cams and toda cams are i think basically for mostly top end power.....in my opinion i would go with an oem set up such as maybe ctr cams.....with the ctr cams you get all around horsepower throughout the powerband and i believe you dont have too change anything else with other cams you haev to change the valve springs so ya just something that might help you decide
