spoon cam gears or vtec controller?
i've just recently rebuilt my b16a and what to start building a decent power making all motor engine. i'm about to drop a little more fundage and was wondering on what would be worth more of an investment: spoon sports adjustable cam gears or a spoon sports vtec controller? the reason i what to go spoon with both is pretty much for show, can't help it just crazy over jdm products. so tell me what you think, what's the pro and cons of each.
The vtec controllers are overpriced and they were used for endurace racing in japan, they only control the vtec crossover and nothing more, normally they would set it at an early vtec engagement while getting out of corners so they can get up to speed, but it looks cool I guess, not worth the money imho, I had two of em'. Spoon cam gears would be a better investment I'd believe, but since you don't really want performance I don't know what to tell ya'.
AF controller is definitely a better choice than cam gears...dont buy into the jdm hype...get a vafc u will be much happier when u get ur car tuned than with cam gears...u just rebuilt ur motor back to stock and now u want to upgrade it? why didnt u just build it for more power instead of stock from the get go?
actually i didn't build it back to stock, i put a set of ctr .25 overbore pistons in. i've always wanted to do this kind of build. i've read what people have said about ctr pistons and the higher compression and that's pretty much why i chose this route. i am into performance just not to an insane amount, not yet anyways

plus i've already made up my mind, i'm going to go with the cam gears. it'll make the process of tunning my motor with the new pistons a lot easier. still would like to hear more peoples opinions though.
like i said, i've always liked the jdm look and performance. plus i've always wanted spoon sports "stuff" and now i can afford it so...

not being a dick but...are u retarded?if ur still using ur stock cams, cam gears are not gonna make any difference...honda made the cams so that they would make the best results at tdc...its when u go with higher lift aftermarket cams where cam gears come in hand...sometimes they barely make any more power than with the stock non adjustable cam gears...
i still say go with the A/F controller if ur only gonna choose between the controller and gears...plus a/f controllers are old news...its pretty much just a hack that tricks ur computer...hondata or a similar engine managment system is the way to go...
