Splicing O2 wires together

I have a first gen b16a head and a b18b bottom. And I have a dc sports 4-2-1 header. So that means that I have 2 o2 sensors where the 4 pipes go into 2, one on each conection. I was wondering, I want a ITR header, but that only comes with one spot for an o2 sensor where the 4 go into 1, so could i cut the wires and splice one into the other one so they read the same thing? I really need to know this, cuz that header is HOTT! and I hate having 2 o2 sensors hanging off the front of my motor. Please HELP!! thanks.

Two O2 sensors where?
1. One O2 sensor needs to be before the cat. This one is used for AF ratio.
If you need two then...
2. The second O2 goes after the cat. This O2 is used to check on the cat's efficiency.
Do not splice two together, it won't work!
What I think you are talking about is your header has two bung's for O2 sensors right? That doesn't mean you have to run two O2's. Just means you have the option to run it in the factory location or move it to the collector. If I had a choice I would run it to the collector to get an accurate reading from all cylinders.

no, my 2 o2 sensors are for an obd0 engine. And the factory places are one on each intersection where the 4 go into the 2. So one reads 2 cylinders and the other reads the other 2. So you did answer my question on the last part, i think. Because the ITR Header has just one spot for an o2 at the collector, so I was wondering if i could splice the 2 o2 sensors together and just have the one at the collector with 2 wires going into it.

I haven't seen your set-up before. OBD-0 w/2 o2's 1 per two cylinders. I am wondering why would this be. What motor came in it stock and what year civic (is it the 91?)so I can do a little research.
My 88 crx si has only one o2.

A few years later Honda must have realized that it works OK to place the sensor farther downstream where the exhaust joins into 1.

i dont know the first gen b16a is what i have from japan. I think the 2 o2s look like crap where they are at right now and the ITR header is just so hot I must have it. Yeah I have a 91 si. I think d16a6 that came in eg's has the same 2 o2 sensor set up. I hope that soldering the wires together and wrapping it with electrical tape will be ok.

yeah, thats what i was thinking as well, but ive never worked with that stuff before and i dont have that weird blow dryer looking thing to heat it up. I might be able to scroung one up from somewhere but i also need to get a damn solder gun, but bro broke my other one.
yea, the obd0 b16's had 2 o2's.
what ecu are you running?
if you are running a stock pr3/pw0 and splice hte o2's together, it s going to through a check engine light for whichever O2 isnt connected. pr3/pw0 have leads for both o2's.

hmmmm. I dont see why it would throw a code when both o2s are connected. I wanted to cut one of the wires and connect it to the other o2 wire that is connected to the o2 in the collector. So both would be reading the same thing i would think. Im not going to mess with the ecu at all. Im not going to leave one wire just hanging there, it will be hooked up to the other o2.

So i just decided to just splice the wires where they are just to see if it would work. I was tired of contemplating on if it would work or not. So I cut the wires and saudered one of the wires to the other one and heat shrink tubed it up and it was working perfect. I drove it around for about 75 miles today and no cel and no problems. I hope it keeps up this way. Thanks for the help.
