Default Speedometer problems??

Hi guys,

So the story is, my speedometer went dead on me this morning while I was driving to work. I was stopping at a junction and the needle just stayed at 0 km/h even when I got moving again.

There was no check light, and I checked my odometer and trip meter, and both were working fine. I didn't try going into Vtec though, so I don't know if I still could. Would a spoiled VSS cause this? A faulty socket?

Fyi, I'm driving a JDM 96spec DC2R.

Help is appreciated guys!

If your odometer and trip still work its the cluster that failed not the vss.
Vtec will still engage, take a look at the solder points on the back Of the
speedometer some times very fine hair line cracks develop on those points
Similar to the main relay. I've brought back a couple of clusters just by freshening
The solder points.
